A Wedding Cake is the dessert part of a reception we all look forward to. Now a days many have added candy buffets with colors fitting for the theme, bars that include ice cream, create your own pancake, mini pastries, make your own s’mores, etc. Whatever “make your own bar” you decide, it has creativity and it adds a special touch to the event. Yet, the cake is still and will be the most anticipated dessert. They can be made in many sizes, feeding a few to many. Pricing is usually for per person or per slice, from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars per person depending on who you have making the cake for you. Cakes are made with many ingredients especially ranging from using marzipan (which is a sugar or honey and almond mix), gum paste, fondant, buttercream or chocolate. It is said, according to Wikipedia, that in England they eat the wedding cake for breakfast the morning after.
That doesn’t sound like a bad idea!
What was called the “Bride’s pie” was white in color and it was associated with virginity and purity. The Bride’s pie eventually turned into the Bride’s cake therefore the color white became common because the cake needed to reflect the bride.
However you want your cake, whether it be for your birthday celebration or wedding reception, 1 tier to 10 tiers, if it’s delicious, mouth watering, and your guests are happy, then
“Let them eat cake!”
